Apple takes the payment details when you start, nothing is charged for the first 7 days, and Apple emails you a reminder before the trial ends.
In your iPhone's Settings, under Subscriptions — the same place as everything else you pay for through Apple. Cancel inside the trial and you pay nothing at all.
Your tasks become read-only: see them in the web app, export them, or delete the account. Subscribe again inside 90 days and everything is back — after that it is deleted, and we email you two weeks before that happens. The terms say so in writing.
